Farrow & Ball: Most Loved Colors

farrow & ball

It’s certainly no secret that Farrow & Ball stands apart from the competition when it comes to quality paint. Since their founding in 1946, they’ve kept a reputation of using the finest ingredients to create the richest colors imaginable. But even Farrow & Ball has paints that are more popular than the rest, and today we wanted to share some that were chosen by their Head of Creative, Charlotte Cosby. Charlotte has been with the company for a decade, and is fully responsible for its creative direction, so it’s safe to say we trust her insight. Here are a few pigments that Charlotte has noticed are among the most loved of Farrow & Ball’s wide selection.

Whites

Variations of white will always remain popular, as it is a neutral look that goes well with any home or business. Due to the ever-popular nature of this color, Farrow & Ball has quite a few options.

  • All White – This paint stands out as it contains no other pigment besides white, which is unusual in the world of paint. The lack of a blue undertone allows the white to provide a soft, comforting feel that isn’t common.
  • Pointing 2003 – This warm, yet simple, white variation creates an easy-going feeling that makes any room more enjoyable for those who enter.
  • Wimborne White 239 – You know a paint is good when it’s named after the town the company is located in, which is exactly the case with this marvelous tone. The tiniest amount of yellow pigment keeps this hue a shade away from pure white.

Soft Grays

These variations have only grown in popularity over recent years, and we don’t expect that to change anytime soon. They do a wonderful job of blending a modern feel with classic style.

  • 228 Cornforth White – This paint is a great neutral with a calming effect that fits well in practically any environment.
  • Skimming Stone 241 – This fantastic color is named after a 19th century skim (plaster color), but the masterminds behind it mentioned it reminds them of skimming stones on the water as a child – and we couldn’t agree more!
  • Strong White 2001 – The lightness of the gray undertones provide a soft white sensation that brings new energy to any canvas.

Dark Colors

Dark colors have risen to become the “new neutral” to many customers, and there are countless great options to choose from.

  • Down Pipe – This fantastic color blends a dark gray with blue undertones for a result that has taken off in the world of paint. While this color was originally reserved for painting the downpipes and gutters outside the home, it has now taken its place as a favorite inside as well.
  • Railings 31 – A wonderful combination of blue and black, this color can be a soft or loud as you want it to depending on the finish used with it.
  • Stiffkey – Named after the marvelous blues seen along the beach in Norfolk, this color is used to create a more contemporary, yet dramatic, feel! Use it in well-lit areas for an even more blue sensation.
