When purchasing the perfect style plantation shutter for your home, one of the decisions you get to make is whether to buy painted shutters that match your trim or stained shutters.
Rainbow Paint and Decorating encourages customers to buy shutters that match their existing millwork. Most houses used to have stained trim but most trim now is painted. Stained wood is much more expensive and some designers think it has a dated look. That is not to say that you do not find stained trim because some designers still use stained trim as a high end finish.
Painted shutters are the most common shutter that we sell. We can have the paint matched to any color. Our design team helps make right selection so that there is a great match. It usually takes us about three weeks at the most to get painted shutters ordered and installed.
Stained shutters are much more expensive and take a lot longer to get ordered and installed. We start by matching the stain color to a piece of wood and sending that match to the manufacturer. The manufacturer then turns around and produces the shutters and then stains them to match our sample. The finished product is amazing. The stained shutters really gives your house that custom look. I would say if you have the budget and the time, don’t paint that trim, but buy stained plantation shutters to match.
When working with Rainbow Paint & Decorating to buy your plantation shutters, we can be a resource to help you decide whether or not to get stained plantation shutters or painted ones. Regardless which direction you go, when the project is finished, you will be happy.
